Massage Therapies
David is trained in Holistic Massage & Aromatherapy, Deep Tissue and Advanced Techniques, Sports Massage, Pregnancy Massage & Baby Massage.
Holistic Massage including deep tissue
The term "Holistic" derives from the Ancient Greek word "holos," which means "whole." By definition, Holistic massage treats the ‘Whole Person’ - Your Body, Mind & Soul in Unison. Holistic massage is an ancient method of healing that clears the lymphatic drainage system and releases toxins from the body, as well as relieving mental and emotional stresses & tensions.
David has undertaken a course in deep tissue and advanced techniques to further develop his massage style. The technique is similar to regular massage but is slower and deeper allowing more concentration on areas of tension and pain, reaching the connective tissue surrounding muscles.
Deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as chronic muscle pain, injury rehabilitation.
Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy uses volatile plant materials, known as essential oils, and other aromatic compounds for the purpose of altering a person's mind, mood, cognitive function or health.
Combine this with the therapeutic effects of massage and you have a wonderful therapy.
Sports Massage
Not just for sporty people! Anyone can benefit from a sports therapy massage; granted the massage is not as the traditional techniques but the effects are worth it. Areas of tension are highlighted during the consultation and an assessment is made to document progress and design a sports therapy strategy if required. Specific sports therapy massage techniques are used during the massage to release tension along with a range of stretching techniques to aid recovery. Pre-event, during event and post event massages can also be included, great for a marathon preparation! Advice can be given on both thermotherapy and cryotherapy.
